Koksilah Acres - Alpaca Farm BC was born and raised in the spring of 2000 – the year of change. Alpaca Farm BC is located 44 km north of Victoria on Vancouver Island and 18 km south of Duncan.

The sheep were the first purchase to keep the grass in check on our five acres. My newly acquired additions were at the Duncan Fair and ready to come home but my eye wondered over to the two alpacas that were being bid on at the silent auction.

Terry and Diane Lee of Wakefield Alpacas also had two fibre boys, Roy and Elvis, at the fair that seemed to have my name on them. By the fall I had purchased Raina and Alexa, two pregnant females and Dallas my guardian llama. I was hooked. Terry and Diane gave me my start along with the support needed then and now.

Clearing 2001

Winter 2000
A portable garage was their shelter for the first winter. Construction of the barn started the following spring. The land was cleared, pasture planted and fences constructed.

Summer 2001
Horses also are included on the farm. Haley (pregnant warmblood mare) came in June 2001. Although I had no intention of getting another horse, Teddy was for sale in a magazine and was here with Haley before Halloween.
